Tip Sheet Using "Baitrix" Cut Bait with Rhys Davis Large Teaser

All Teaser/Baitrix combos are now rigged with a red pin to secure the
Artificial bait properly.
The following will help you convert your existing Rhys Davis Teasers to
Get the right action with the Baitrix Cut Bait.
Retro-fitting Your Old Rhys Davis Teasers for Using Baitrix Strips
1) Put a much bigger curve in the plastic tail section of the Teaser. You can
steam the glow, glow painted and standard colors, but do not apply any heat
to your chrome heads and bend them carefully. (see pictures below)
2) Trim about 50% off the top and bottom lobes on the tail fin of the Baitrix
herring strip. By reducing the size of the tail fin the bait will roll more easily.
3) Drill a new leader entry hole and put just a bit more curve in the plastic tail
section of the lure. This replicates the design change in the new Large
Teaser Baitrix Special.
General Tips for Using Baitrix Artificial Strips
1) Use any fish scent of your choosing. If you place it in the lure cavity before
securing the bait it will seep out over a much longer period of time.
2) You can color these baits using a standard felt marker if you choose to want
to add color to you lures.
3) A good size single hook gives the Baitrix strip a better roll and puts less drag
on the lure. Treble hooks are okay but will slow the roll rate slightly.
4) Don’t set the hooks into the Baitrix strip. Leave them at the tail or just a bit
behind.
5) The Large Teaser/Baitrix lure should still turn at 1-2 revolutions per second
as you have fished them for years.
